Entrust SD260 support

1. Unboxing

This video will explain what accessories and items will be found in your SD260 printer box.

Please follow along to ensure that you have all the necessary accessories for setting up your printer.

NB: please have someone help you remove your printer when taking it out of the box so you do not drop and damage the printer. It is very difficult to take out so we advise that you have someone to help.

2. Set up your printer

This video will explain how you set up your SD260 Entrust printer.

Please follow along to see how to insert your colour ribbon into the printer and wait for your printer to power on with your cable cord.

All the accessories will be available in your box to set up your printer accordingly.

It is important that you set up your printer before powering it on.

3. Installation via USB

This video will explain how to set up your SD260 Entrust printer by connecting your PC to your printer via USB.

Follow along in this video to see how you set up your USB installation and follow the prompts on Entrust to print your cards.

4. Installation via network IP address

This video will explain how to install your SD260 Entrust printer on your PC via a network cable and IP address.

Follow along in this video to see how to get your IP address before printing your sample cards.

5. How to load your ISO / Mag-stripe cards

This video will explain how to position and load your ISO chip and magnetic stripe cards correctly into your SD260 input hopper.

This is important so that you do not print over it and so that it does not damage the printhead.

NB: please separate the cards before placing them into the input hopper as they may stick together.

6. Inserting a cleaning card

This video will explain how to insert a cleaning card into your SD260 printer.

Cleaning cards are inserted when error 172 is displayed on the LCD message. NB: please wear gloves while handling the printer and the cleaning card so as not to remove any oils or dirt from your hands.

Cleaning cards are normally inserted when your printhead is damaged or after 250 cards have been inserted into the printer and the quality of the cards have degraded.

7. Removing a card jam

This video will explain how to remove a card jam on your SD260 printer.

Follow along to see how to carefully remove your jammed card. NB: please wear gloves when removing the card and please be patient it may be a fidgety process.

Error 199 will display to show that there is a card problem. Follow our steps to safely remove your card. Only then may you continue printing your cards.

8. Repairing a broken ribbon

This video will explain how to repair a broken ribbon on your SD260 printer when the ribbon snaps or tears.

Error 109 will display on the LCD panel to relate that the ribbon is broken. Amber flashing the user button and print ribbon button will display this.

Follow our video to see how to repair your ribbon and re-use it. Please wear gloves when handling your ribbon so that you do not transfer any oils or dirt from your hands onto your card. Which may affect the quality of your card.

9. Printing a test card

This video will explain how to print a test card on your Entrust SD260 printer.

Follow along on the LCD panel to print your test card. You may have to print a few test cards before the quality of the print is rich and vibrant. Please have a few test cards handy for this to ensure that you have the best quality card.

10. Cleaning your printhead

This video will explain how to clean your printhead for your Entrust SD260 printer.

It is important to clean your printhead when it is damaged, the printhead is replaced or damaged by oils and dirt.

NB: please wear gloves while doing this so as not to contaminate the printhead.

You may print a sample card after the exercise is completed to see the quality of printing.

It is okay to be a bit aggressive. Printers need to be cleaned properly so that they do not get dust & dirt in them.
